Yongxin Hou

Yongxin is an Associate Attorney at HKR, where her work focuses on first-party property insurance disputes, including policy coverage and extracontractual matters.

Yongxin earned her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as an Associate Editor on the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. She also completed a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution, gaining extensive training in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Additionally, she holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Liaoning University in China, providing her with a strong foundation in both American and Chinese law.

During law school, Yongxin held a judicial externship with the Honorable Michael H. Watson at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and served as a hearing officer in the teen court program at the Franklin County Juvenile Court, part of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas in Columbus, Ohio. She also interned at the Ohio Department of Public Safety. After graduation, she gained her experience in transactional matters at a New York law firm, focusing on agreement drafting, legal research on licensing and compliance issues, and preparing corporate documents for business formation.

Outside of work, Yongxin is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast, staying active through running and weightlifting. She also enjoys exploring the art of coffee tasting and spending quality time with her family.
